Mr. Cullinan "Cully" was raised in Mission Viejo, California. He is a 1992 graduate of Mission Viejo High School where he lettered in football and basketball. As a senior he served as captain of the basketball team and signed his NLI with University of the Pacific. While at Pacific, coach suffered a career ending back injury but still completed his Bachelors Degree in Social Science. Upon graduation he returned to Orange County and earned his teaching credential and Masters Degree in Education from National University. Cullinan most recently completed his Administrative Credential.
Coach Cully came to Rancho Mirage High School with a strong teaching and coaching background having coached since age 19. Prior to becoming a Rattler, Coach Cullinan, was the Head Boys Basketball coach at Mission Viejo High School. Cullinan's extensive coaching background also includes: Head Girls Coach Dana Hills HS 2011-2014, Associate Head Boys Coach Dana Hills High School from 2003-2014, Laguna Beach High School 1999-2003, serving as Head Varsity Boys Coach from 2001-2003, Dana Hills Varsity Assistant 1996-1999 and Varsity/JV assistant coach at Tokay High School (Lodi, CA) from 1993-1996. Cully has taught at Thurston Middle School in Laguna Beach, Dana Hills High School and Mission Viejo High School prior to becoming a Rattler! Cully's family includes ... Mrs. Cully (a teacher at Desert Hot Springs HS), son Drew (pursuing his Bachelors in Elementary Education), step-daughter Samantha (University of the Pacific majoring in Music Education), daughter Mackenzie currently taking a gap year & pursuing options in Public Policy, and step-son Ryan (RMHS Freshman/Varsity Basketball player) and Grandson Dominic made his debut in March 2022! Coach Cully loves being a Rattler and enjoys teaching in the Social Science department at RMHS. In addition to the classroom, Cully is an Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and was the Rancho Mirage Head Girls Basketball Coach from 2016-2022. 2022-2023 will mark the 30th season of Coaching at the High School level for Cully. |
